Goat For The Soul

Goat Yoga Info and FAQ's

image1

We have been told one of the reasons everyone likes Goat for the Soul is the relaxed, casual atmosphere.

Goat Yoga Particulars:

  • All experience levels are welcome.  Usually the more experienced sit toward the front.

  • Do goats bite?  In their upper jaw, goats only have teeth in the back.  In their lower jaw, they have teeth in the front and the back.  Goats are excellent nibblers, but not much on biting.

  • No one will be offended if you stop to cuddle or play with a goat; after all, that is part of the experience.......some folks completely abandon the yoga aspect and spend their time playing with a goat.....great animal therapy!!

  • Bring an old towel or yoga mat.  Goats think towels & mats are fascinating and like to nibble.....and sometimes nature calls right when they are standing on your towel...oops!

  • You might want to pull your hair back as your exercise buddies like to nibble.

  • Bring water and sunscreen.

  • Feel free to take as many pictures as you want.  After class, you can pose for pictures with the goats.

  • Only take your water, mat/towel, and phone into the yoga area; there will be a table to leave all other items (items laying around might be nibbled and stepped on).

  •  In the event of inclement weather, class will be cancelled and you will have the opportunity to book another session.  CLASS CANCELLATION WILL BE POSTED ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE: @GOATFORTHESOUL.

Reactions to Goat for the Soul

“As a beginner I was self-conscious in a studio setting…..out in the open with the goats, I am not intimidated."

“I feel like I get a better work-out with goat yoga, holding poses longer as I am not counting in my head the time I have spent in the pose (with muscles screaming) but am watching the goats play."

“Yoga in a studio can be so serious, but with the goats, everyone is much more relaxed….I like it better!”

“At my age and lack of coordination, I have NEVER done an exercise class…my daughter talked me into goat yoga and I LOVE it….I don’t feel like I am exercising and whenever I need a break, I stop and play with a goat.”

"This place is great!!!  The farm is beautiful, great yoga practice, and, of course, friendly little goats everywhere! I will definitely be returning!"
